Melbourne broadcaster Neil Mitchell has urged Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to call off the Indigenous Voice to Parliament referendum.
“Delay the vote, sit down with the opposition and whomever else to work out a deal,” he said.
“Get recognition of Indigenous people through in the Constitution and find a way to make something like a Voice work in detail.“What has to be done for the Indigenous community now, where and how? Delay the Voice. Give us plan B, doing nothing is just not an option.
“I’m not really hearing anything about the Voice down there, it’s all about the cost of living,” she told Sky News Australia on Monday. “So, I’m not 100 per cent sure. I’ll be home after next week and ill be able to give you more of an indication of what it looks like then. “I’m not sure it will continue to hold in Tasmania… it may not. But seriously, I couldn’t tell you where they are sitting.
