A Tasmanian man has been arrested in relation to a 29-year-old hit-and-run that injured two police officers in Melbourne.

The arrest was made in relation to an incident that took place on February 25, 1993, as two officers approached a vehicle in Arthur Street, South Yarra that had been identified as stolen from a St Kilda East address during an aggravated burglary earlier that month.As police approached the vehicle, the then 33-year-old man allegedly drove at and hit the officers.

He was charged with 22 offences including conduct endangering life, assaulting a police officer, unlawful assault, assault with a weapon and failure to stop at an accident.
