Northern Territory Police say they have found DNA evidence the man, who went missing while fishing after his boat capsized on Saturday, is dead after authorities removed a large crocodile from the area yesterday.
Police have called off the search for a 28-year-old man who went missing on Saturday after his boat capsized in waters off Wadeye, about 400 kilometres south-west of Darwin.In the statement announcing the three-and-half day search for the man had ceased, police said authorities had removed a large crocodile from the search area yesterday.
The man and two other men, all Wadeye residents, were out fishing when their boat capsized on Saturday evening. “The search effort has been exhaustive and has identified evidence, including DNA evidence that the missing man is no longer alive and there are a number of possibilities that will be examined for the Coroner in regards to cause of death," the statement said.
