Police cordon off area in Tara after shots fired

Police have made an emergency declaration and were hunting for a shooter after reports two officers were fired at in Tara, about three hours west of Brisbane.Police respond after shots were fired in the small Queensland town of Tara, west of Brisbane, on Wednesday afternoon.

Officers have cordoned off an area in Tara – the same town where late constables Rachel McCrow and Matthew Arnold were based – after the reports were made about 3.30pm.died last month during a shoot-outPolice had declared an emergency zone in Tara by 6pm and evacuated several residents, while others within the zone were asked to remain indoors.Police said about 5.30pm they did not have further details but at that stage, no one had been injured.
