Police in Japan have raided the apartment of Yamagami Tetsuya, the suspect in the assassination of former prime minister Shinzo Abe. 9News
It's been reported the suspect's neighbourhood has been cleared after a number of explosives were found along with handmade weapons during the raid.
Police said they searched the suspect's apartment at 5.17pm confiscating several handmade pistol-like items during the raid. The doctors said the bullet that killed the former Japanese leader was "deep enough to reach his heart" and a team of 20 medical professionals were unable to stop the bleeding.The suspected murder weapon used against former prime minister Shinzo Abe is shown on a television in a window in Tokyo, Japan.
