Police say they've been able to create a 'quite lifelike' digital version of the face of a man who was found dead in Sydney's south-west 35 years ago.

"These types of images are produced only when all other means of identification have failed," he said. The man's body was found on the railway line at Guildford on March 31, 1987, about 200 metres south of the Hawkesbury Street overpass.
