Leicestershire Police is investigating a collision at the British Superbike Championships. Superbike rider Chrissy Rouse, 26, suffered a fatal head injury during the crash at Donnington Speedway, Castle Donnington, on Sunday, October 2, during the third race of the penultimate round.

Following the incident, Rouse was taken to Queen's Medical Centre, and underwent an emergency neurosurgery procedure late on Sunday night. However, he died in hospital on Thursday, October 6.Officers from Leicestershire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out an investigation into the collision, working alongside the Motorcycle Circuit Racing Control Board and MotorSport Vision Racing.
