The duo were believed to have been located at about 1am near Mobbs Swamp.
Alfred Zawadzki, 69, and Klaus Umland, 81, went for a bushwalk from a campground in Megalong Valley last Wednesday and intended to return on Friday. Blue Mountains Police Area Command Detective Inspector Michael Marinello said that while police are happy with the outcome, the situation serves as a reminder for all bushwalkers to ensure they travel with a communication plan.
