Victoria Police said officers were called to Kett Street in Lower Plenty about 6.30pm on Friday after one woman had seriously assaulted another.
Police have shot dead a woman moments after another was allegedly attacked and killed in Melbourne’s north-east.
“Upon police arrival, members were challenged by a woman armed with a knife, who was subsequently shot,” police said in a statement. “Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident, and it is believed the parties were known to each other.”
