A police siege involving a man wanted over a break-in, and who has shut himself inside a property in Adelaide's eastern suburbs, is being attended by armed officers, SA Police says.

Police said the "high-risk incident" was in Elinor Terrace at Glen Osmond and that the man was wanted over a break-in in Upper Sturt in Adelaide's foothills. The man may be armed, police said, but it is understood there are no hostages, and that the man is the only person inside the home.Police said they attended the house about 2pm "after receiving information that a suspect in a recent break-in" was at the property.
"When patrols attempted to speak to the man, he refused to come out and locked the door," police said.STAR Group officers and negotiators are at the scene.Police closed roads around the scene.
