The Victorian Government says it is working to deliver support and information into communities in Melbourne's outer south-east, where anti-lockdown protests have been held over the past few days in breach of physical-distancing restrictions.
Victoria Police said officers would be "highly visible" to deter people from future protestsPolice said officers issued nine fines and arrested four men who joined a "recurring protest" at the George Andrews Reserve on Wednesday.
Officers then arrest some of the men as the rest of the group films them and verbally confronts the officers, with one of them shouting "Nazi dogs". "The scenes that were displayed on the news in the last couple of nights were very disturbing to me, very concerning," she said. "Council is working with local police and community leaders to encourage those involved with these protests to reconsider their actions and work towards a more positive outcome."
