Disney will commence a staggered phase out of password sharing on its streaming platform Disney+ starting in June this year.
Disney will begin to curb the practice of password sharing on its popular streaming service Disney+ from June onwards in some countries, CEO Bob Iger has announced.
“We aim … as I said, for this business to be a growth business for the company with margins that our shareholders will feel good about. Mr Iger said the platform had found itself second to Netflix in terms of global subscribers in a very short period of time. However, while some critics thought the move would backfire on the streaming giant, the decision prompted millions of new sign-ups.
