“Bloodletting” in United Kingdom Labour will be so severe it will take the party “a long time” to recover from the result of the election, Professor Bruce Wilson says.
“The initial response of the Labour Party will be it’s all about Brexit, rather than being about Corbyn or Corbyn’s policies,” he said.
“As the post-election analysis kicks in, those other factors such as the radical kind of re-nationalisation, issues around anti-Semitism, they’ll undoubtedly come under scrutiny. “It’s lost four elections in a row now and that’s bad news for any political party.” Professor Wilson’s remarks come as results stream in from the election — with exit polling suggesting Labour will be smashed by the Conservative Party.
