UPDATE: A large oil fire at a power station near Wollongong burned through the night however authorities said the blaze is now under control. 9News
The fire engulfed the Transgrid Substation at Yallah on the Princess Highway, approximately 5km south of Dapto yesterday afternoon.
"With it being contained we do have environmental containment options on-site and we've been working with the environmental protection agency around plans for contingencies around those if we do have any breaches," Chief Superintendent Michael Morris said. Yesterday, Shellharbour Airport was forced to close as a total of 16 trucks and 60 firefighters were brought in to battle the flames.
