With running costs out of control due to the pressure of the drought, a well-known dairy in north-eastern NSW has no choice but to close, and it's not just the farm workers who will feel the effects.

The drought has claimed another victim as another dairy farm and processor in New South Wales calls it a day.Yet another NSW dairy operation will shut down at the end of the week as running costs render the business unsustainableThe operator says a lack of a floor price for milk, as well as the pressure of the drought, have made it impossible to continue

The operation, which has had numerous owners over the past decade, said the drought was making it impossible to continue. "Basically what our motto's been over time is that 'what our cows give to us, we give to you' — we don't standardise any of our milk, so we do have a quality product.
