A UK buyer has paid over a million dollars to secure Princess Diana's black Ford Escort she drove during the 1980s.

Auctioneer Jonathan Humbert said the vehicle had received the firm's largest number of telephone bids in 12 years, according to the BBC, and there was "fierce bidding" before the sale closed.
