There are signs trade sanctions China imposed on Australian goods could soon be lifted with the Albanese government providing an update on discussions between Canberra and Beijing.
The trade sanctions have remained a sticking point in relations between Australia and China despite an improvement in ties since the election of the Albanese government.
"In almost every aspect where we've had trade blockages or disputes there appears to be progress being made," he told the ABC. "We're not going to resolve every problem in every sector overnight but the Albanese government is committed to stabilising the relationship with China, getting those trade talks well and truly on track and resolving those outstanding disputes."
