Residents at Lowmead are on alert with unconfirmed reports homes have been lost as a result of the bushfire in the Mount Maria region north of Bundaberg.
There have been unconfirmed reports up to four homes have been impacted by bushfire north of Bundaberg, though firefighters are yet to carry out comprehensive damage assessments.The Mount Maria fire has burnt through more than 1,500 hectares of bushResidents at Lowmead — about halfway between Bundaberg and Gladstone — are being told the Mount Maria bushfire threat is not over and conditions could deteriorate throughout the day.
"It takes a while for crews conducting damage assessments to get in there to determine what has happened," she said.
