Shore School mothers have taken to social media to stand up for their sons after the North Sydney school was engulfed in controversy over year 12 muck-up day plans for a scavenger hunt.
The Shore mothers say their sons were approached by journalists last week while waiting for public transport and subjected to radio and television interview requests. Boys have also been abused by members of the public on the way to school according to one primary school mother who wanted to remain anonymous."So many boys have been getting verbally abused, screamed at by the public," she said. "They are all happy it's school holidays.
Debate has since raged in Facebook groups such as North Shore Mums as to whether the muck-up day plan was representative of the broader culture at Shore, how much responsibility parents should take for their sons' behaviour, and whether all-boys' schools breed entitled men.
