Pubs, clubs and parties drive upswing in Sydney cases | marywardy

Pubs, clubs and end-of-year parties are driving an upswing in coronavirus cases in NSW, the state’s Chief Health Officer says, as authorities investigate a possible second Omicron cluster linked to a cruise last week.NSW Health is concerned about a potential Omicron cluster on a harbour cruise last Friday night.

“This is [then] contributing to the increase in cases, and they’re predominantly occurring in vaccinated individuals.” “They can give you that additional assurance [but] they’re not for if you’ve got symptoms,” she stressed. “If you’ve got symptoms, please get that nose and throat swab.”NSW has now recorded 34 cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 after genomic sequencing confirmed three additional virus cases in the state.

As was reported earlier on Wednesday, the pair are among five virus cases detected among attendees at the “Flow Fridays – 90s Themed Boat Party” which departed King Street Wharf on Friday, December 3 at 7.30pm and returned about 11pm.
