Breaking: Qantas has flagged a $1.1 billion loss for the December half due to the extended COVID lockdowns and a recent fall in flight bookings | hijessicayun
Qantas has flagged a “significant loss” of more than $1 billion for the December half and warned that the emergence of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 has impacted demand for international travel.
In international travel, the company said it recently saw a “significant drop in booking momentum due to the news of the Omicron variant and the additional quarantine restrictions imposed.” Both Qantas and Jetstar airlines are seeing significant levels of bookings across the Christmas and holiday period, albeit Omicron made a dent in booking demand during late November.
