Queensland’s Deputy Premier Steven Miles has announced the Queensland Ambulance Service will be used by the government to bolster coronavirus testing efforts in the state.
“We’ve learnt throughout this metropolitan outbreak that we need a greater and more flexible ability to stand up more fever clinics quickly and do more testing quickly”.
“While our first response will continue to be our hospital and health services … we will begin using our ambulance service where we need to be able to make testing more convenient for people”. The Southern Moreton Bay Islands and and Redlands were highlighted by the Deputy Premier as regions which would be targeted by the new testing program.
