Queensland cancer cases predicted to skyrocket by almost 50 per cent within 15 years, prompting the state government to build an Australian-first $750m world-class specialised cancer hospital.

“Cancer is Australia’s leading cause of death and disability, with the number of new cancer cases each year projected to increase faster than the rate of population growth,” she said.

“The centre will have 150 beds, and provide access to a multidisciplinary team of medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, nurses, and allied health professionals.” “It will deliver a chemotherapy service, outpatient consult rooms, multiple operating theatres, and a pathology and pharmacy service.
