Queensland doctors watching for monkeypox but no vaccination push
Queensland doctors and hospital staff have been warned to watch for signs of monkeypox after a case was detected in a man who had visited the state recently.
On Friday, D’Ath confirmed the man had visited the Whitsunday region and Queensland Health had been in contact with NSW Health about the case. The minister played down concerns about a wider outbreak, saying the health department was not considering a vaccine response.“We are aware of it, and the health professionals are consulting with NSW and making sure we’re keeping an eye out for further cases.”
