The mercury is expected to soar to above average levels again in Queensland, with the heatwave making conditions more difficult for firefighters.
Firefighters have been battling a large blaze in Millmerran about 100 kilometres from Toowoomba where it’s been confirmed at least two homes have been destroyed, along with eight structures after the fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon.
There is still a prepare to leave warning in place for Cypress Gardens and Forest Ridge. Queensland is now up to day five of a heatwave across the east of the state and it will spread to the west over the weekend. Brisbane has recorded four consecutive days of 33 degrees or higher.
