Meanwhile, temperatures up to 12 degrees Celsius above average and above 40 degrees Celsius expected in the Lockyer Valley and Ipswich on Friday.
"That will continue to increase over the coming days, peaking on Friday and Saturday getting up to 12 degrees above average."Firefighters have had a long night battling blazes in New South Wales ahead of another day of fire danger, as smoke haze continues to blanket Sydney.
