The Queensland Fire Department was called to multiple rescues overnight, as three campers were stranded in floodwater in Toogoom, on the Fraser Coast, on Tuesday morning. Streets in Kingaroy, in the South Burnett region, were inundated with record high December rainfall, cutting off roads and motorists. The vehicle was reported to be about 30m from dry land as the SES rescued the driver, who was standing on top of his vehicle. Further storm activity is expected for parts of Queensland, with Sky News Weather Meteorologist Rob Sharpe warning it could impact New Year's Eve celebrations throughout south-east Queensland.
