Queensland’s shadow treasurer David Janetzki has vowed to save the state almost $7 billion over the next four years, as he finally released the party’s long-awaited costings ahead of Saturday’s election.
Queensland’s shadow treasurer David Janetzki has vowed to save the state almost $7 billion through a new government body that would dramatically slash public sector spending.
Mr Janetzki pointed to the Federal Government’s body Australian Government Consultancy, established by federal Labor Treasurer Jim Chalmers, as a model for the state body. The consultancy will employ between 40 and 50 public staffers and exist within Treasury, according to Mr Janetzki. Despite scrapping the project, Mr Janetzki announced no planned funding for the Liberal National Party's own renewables rollout, which includes smaller pumped hydro projects.
