Jackson O'Doherty, a Queensland social media personality, was fined $1033 for allegedly cooking a steak while behind the wheel of his car. He shared the infringement notice on Instagram, prompting humorous reactions from his followers.
A Queensland man has shared bizarre images of himself cooking a steak while behind the wheel of a car after copping a fine for the alleged driving offence. Receiving a $1033 infringement notice, social media personality Jackson O’Doherty — who goes by itsjackson on Instagram — posted the fine to his 2.2M followers on the platform with the advice “Don’t drive & Cook”. He further captioned the post, “Cooking steak whilst driving=$1,000 fine 😡🤣”.
Printed on the notice were two images illustrating the charge, which depicted the influencer handling a steak with tongs as it cooked in a frying pan upon what appeared to be a portable camping cooker. The alleged offence was stated as “Driver use frying pan handheld/resting on body”. Taking place on Pacific Motorway which connects Brisbane to the Gold Coast, the images were timestamped at 13.43, with the date and vehicle details blurred by Mr O’Doherty. Known for his party boy lifestyle, irreverent vlogs, and frequent travel, Mr O’Doherty’s followers were impressed yet hardly surprised by his actions. And they chewed the fat in the comments. “High stake driving at its finest,” one person wrote. “That looks like a bloody good slice of wagyu 😍🥵 lady behind the computer must have been vegan,” another said. Others questioned if the law covered such a charge, with one person asking, “I’d like to see where in our laws it says this is a fineable offence”. Grand Hotel Childers, a pub in Queensland, has offered free steak to Mr O’Doherty in wake of the alleged offence. Sharing the hilarious charge online, the heritage venue invited the vlogger to “Come see us for a free Mongrel Rump on the house!” Arguably a stunt to his feed his insatiable appetite for pushing boundaries, the personality shared a similar offence in 2023 when he was fined $1033 for using a typewriter while driving
