A man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead at a home in Brisbane.

The woman, 45, was found at the home in Upper Mount Gravatt before 8pm on Monday and despite the "best efforts" of paramedics died soon after. "It's not lost on me that this happened on the same day as the National Women's Safety Summit was commencing in Canberra," Detective Superintendent Tony Fleming said on Tuesday.The man is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
