Marcelo Queiroga had accompanied Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro to the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday.
that Queiroga was doing well after the positive test and so far other members of the Brazilian delegation have tested negative.
Queiroga told CNN Brasil that he will quarantine in New York for 14 days and some other Brazilian delegation members have canceled their participation from the UNGA to prevent spreading the infection to members from other nations. Last week Queiroga disclosed that he was vaccinated earlier this year with the Chinese-developed Sinovac vaccine, but did not clarify when received the shot.
The minister had come under the spotlight earlier this week for flipping his middle finger at protestors in New York who were demonstrating against Bolsonaro.
