Victoria Opposition Leader John Pesutto says the latest IBAC investigation involving the Andrews government should serve as a warning to other state Labor governments about the centralisation of power.to award a $1.2 million contract to the Health Workers Union. IBAC said there no corrupt conduct, but that the contract was improperly awarded.
“And it’s a lesson for our national audience and particularly for new governments in NSW and a relatively new government in South Australia. The lesson here if you want a parable out of all of this, it’s about the centralisation of power around the premier and his inner office, which then subverts all of the other institutions of government. That’s what’s really going on.”
