Red Bull star Broc Feeney has set the pace in the red flag-riddled third practice session for the Bathurst 1000, while both Matt Stone Racing entrants have crashed out. After Jamie Whincup wound back the clock to go fastest of all the co-drivers on Thursday, Feeney overcame three red flags to finish ahead of Tickford pair Thomas Randle and Tyler Everingham on Friday morning at Mount Panorama.
Cameron Crick crashes into the wall at Bathurst 1000. Feeney’s teammate and championship leader Will Brown was ninth-fastest in a repaired Red Bull Chevrolet Camaro after co-driver Scott Pye’s high-speed crash on Thursday. Meanwhile, Matt Stone Racing faces a tough afternoon in the garage after main drivers Nick Percat and Cam Hill’s cars suffered heavy crashes during the hour-long session. With another practice session slated for 1.05pm before qualifying starts at 4.
