The daughter of murdered Queensland grandmother Vyleen White introduced LNP leader David Crisafulli at his official election campaign launch in Ipswich on Sunday, praising his commitment to curbing youth crime in the sunshine state.

“I’m standing before you today because we as a family will not allow her death to be in vain,” Ms Micallef said. “Like so many Queenslanders, I had seen the impact of Labor’s weak laws, I’d seen it on the news, we’ve seen it in our community, but I never believed those laws would fail my family so badly and tear our lives apart.
“In my family’s hour of need, both men came to our home, but there is only one who is the true leader,” Ms White said. Mr Crisafulli said his party’s plan would address three key areas, stronger laws, “gold standard” early intervention and rehabilitation “with purpose”. “We will rewrite the Youth Justice Act, within the sentencing provisions the rights of the victim will come ahead of the rights of the offender."
