‘Reimagining the college’: One of Sydney’s oldest Catholic schools considers co-ed move | lucy_carroll

One of Sydney’s oldest Catholic schools is considering becoming co-ed, with inner-city St Mary’s Cathedral College putting a proposal to parents this week that could see it expand to a dual campus.

“Earlier this year we ran market research about providing catholic education in the city to better understand the impact of urban renewal, high enrolment demand and the emerging needs of families,” Farley said. Anthony Albanese poses for a selfie with students during a visit to his old school during the campaign. The school, which costs $5189 for year 12, is also in the process of recruiting a new principal with current head Michael Kelleher set to leave at the end of the year.

The plan comes as more single-sex schools across Sydney become co-educational and parents increasingly call for more co-ed options.
