The only problem was by the time it was built and producing water in 2012, the worst of the drought was over.Supplied: SA WaterInstead of pumping out 100 gigalitres a year, it was running at a bare minimum – just enough to keep it ticking over."It's just costing us an absolute monty ... it's a very expensive experiment," opposition spokeswoman Michelle Lensink said at the time., designed to trade-off some of SA's Murray allocation for farmers to grow animal feed.
