Residents in parts of New South Wales have been told to 'evacuate now' as intense rain and flash flooding continues to lash the east coast.

Other"evacuation now" areas include the low-lying farmland in Agnes Banks, Cornwallis and eastern part of Richmond Lowlands, and all properties in Lower Portland east of the Hawkesbury River. The NSW SES is directing people in the following area to EVACUATE BEFORE 7:30 am Sat 06 Apr due to rising moderate flooding:In the early hours of Saturday morning, the Bureau of Meteorology said a trough was deepening along the state's coast, under the influence of a slow-moving upper-level low over central NSW.
The Bureau said heavy rainfall, which may lead to flash flooding, is forecast for the Sydney metropolitan area, Illawarra, and Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands and South Coast, while easing in the north on Saturday. Rescue crews are urging people to stay indoors, with Sydney, Wollongong, Nowra, Batemans Bay and Goulburn listed as locations of concern as damaging winds and heavy rainfall is expected to continue throughout the day.
