The company's Fleet of Boeing 737 jets, which provide services between the major capital city airports, have all been grounded.Over the border in southern NSW, Bega-based orthopaedic surgeon Matthew Nott said his team relied on out-of-area specialists three weeks out of each month." we are going to really struggle to provide a 24-hour, on-call service for orthopaedics, for general surgery for anaesthetics and for obstetrics.
"Anything that makes it more challenging for specialists to come to the regions is going to have a significant impact."Rex Airlines administrator Sam Freeman told ABC News Breakfast keeping regional flights in operation was a "priority". "The most important thing for Rex is that it is able to continue to support the regional communities it serves today … and that is no mean feat," she said."We don't want that history and we know how important it is for those communities to be connected to the rest of Australia.
