Police manned a booze bus-style checkpoint on the Hume Highway, on the northern outskirts of Melbourne, on Thursday.Not all vehicles were stopped, with a constant flow of cars and trucks still on the roads despite the hard lock down in Melbourne that came into force on Wednesday night. Bar codes on the back of licences were scanned using an electronic device, with drivers then asked about their journey. Many said they were going to the nearby town of Wallan for work. Some showed work passes to back up their story or were asked for the names of job sites.Jason South
