The long-time backer of the Orchestra will join its board as it faces challenges on a number of fronts.
Roslyn Packer, a long-time financial supporter of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, has been added to its board of directors.
An SSO spokeswoman said Ms Packer, 83, was an addition to the orchestra’s board, which will expand to nine members under chairman Geoff Wilson.The appointment of Ms Packer, whose previous board roles have included the Sydney Festival, St Vincent’s Private Hospital and the National Gallery Of Australia’s Foundation Board , was not related to the SSO’s current corporate governance challenges, the spokeswoman said.
Just over one-third of female respondents and nearly one-quarter of male respondents said they had experienced sexual harassment in their time with the SSO.
