After shutting its gates in early August because of the second wave of COVID-19, the Royal Botanic Gardens will reopen on Saturday.

The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting wet weather on both Saturday and Sunday and temperatures of less than 15 degrees.
To ensure people's safety and prevent the spread of infection, there will be hygiene protocols and physical distancing measures in place, including one-way paths. "I think it is very important to have the Botanic Gardens open as part of the recovery, symbolically it is part of life returning to normal," he said.
