Ruby Princess preparing to leave as passengers promised full refund

NSW Police Deputy Commissioner said police were working with Australian Border Force, NSW Health, Carnival and the home countries of about 1100 crew members to determine who would be repatriated.

Before the Ruby Princess docked in Sydney, passengers on board had been offered a partial refund or credit towards a future cruise.

“We kinda like cruising and we’re keen to see that Carnival ... doesn’t go down in flames,” he said. “But if they offer us more, I’m not going to turn it down.” National Australian co-ordinator from the International Transport Workers' Federation Dean Summers said a repatriation process for crew members from the United States, Canada, Britain, Ireland and New Zealand had started.
