Rumble hit out at an 'inappropriate and dangerous' request from a senior MP for information on whether the comedian can profit from advertising while facing rape and sexual assault allegations
In her letter to Rumble, Chief Executive Chris Pavlovski, Dame Caroline asked “whether Mr Brand is able to monetise his content” and, if so, “whether Rumble intends to join YouTube in suspending Mr Brand’s ability to earn money on the platform”.She added: “We would like to know what Rumble is doing to ensure that creators are not able to use the platform to undermine the welfare of victims of inappropriate and potentially illegal behaviour”.
“We regard it as deeply inappropriate and dangerous that the UK Parliament would attempt to control who is allowed to speak on our platform or to earn a living from doing so,” the statement from Rumble said.
Dame Caroline also wrote to other video hosting sites and social media outlets on Wednesday to ask whether Mr Brand can make “profit from his content” on their platforms.
