From the driver's seat of an allegedly stolen four-wheel-drive, the runaway man let off a single round from a gun aimed at specialist police who were in pursuit of him.
The rims of an allegedly stolen car were glowing red hot on police surveillance footage after its tyres were shredded by a runaway driver trying to escape authorities. The joyride only came to a stop when the man crashed through trees on Thistlerow Street and dumped the car, before running on foot. Shortly afterward however, he surrendered to police from the roof of a home where the PolAir police helicopter had tracked him.
