A run of hot weather is likely responsible for scarab beetles swarming some homes and business in the ACT region.
Canberra residents have reported dealing with scarab beetles in significant numbers.But when she turned her front light on, she discovered it wasn't rain drops hitting her window, but a swarm of beetles.
Mark Balakrishnan said hundreds — if not thousands — of the beetles have attempted to get inside his home throughout the week. Their numbers vary from year-to-year, and Mr Pullen said this year appears to be particularly productive.
