In a shocking incident, four school staff members were injured after being assaulted by students and a parent at a school in Armidale , New South Wales. Police responded to reports of an alleged assault involving two students, an 11-year-old and a 13-year-old, who were attempting to assault another student on Butler Street. During the confrontation, the students allegedly assaulted several staff members who intervened. No students were injured in the incident.
However, four staff members sustained minor injuries. Two of the staff members required further medical attention and were transported to Armidale Hospital. Adding to the chaos, a 34-year-old woman arrived at the school during the altercation. Police allege she verbally abused both staff and police officers present at the scene. The woman was subsequently arrested and charged with several offenses, including refusing to comply with police instructions, hindering or resisting a police officer in the execution of their duty, and intimidating a police officer. The two students involved in the initial assault are also facing charges as a result of the incident. \The incident highlights the increasing challenges schools face in maintaining a safe and secure environment for students and staff. It also underscores the urgent need for greater support for school staff in dealing with violent and disruptive behavior
