WA will look to other states for guidance on how to manage potential COVID cases in schools once the state's borders reopen next year, with rapid antigen tests likely to be a key part of the strategy.

"Returning students to in-person learning and keeping schools open safely during this phase has been identified as a national priority," the institute stated. Contacts are also advised to use a rapid antigen test when they visit any places with low vaccination rates, or elderly or immunocompromised relatives or friends.
In New South Wales, schools have been operating on 'level three' settings for the remainder of the final term of 2021.
