Residents on a Scots street have been evacuated from their homes after a 'suspected ordnance' was discovered in a back garden.
The bomb disposal unit was called to Banavie Road, Glasgow, after Police Scotland were alerted to the discovery at around 12.05pm today. Residents have been evacuated as a precaution and a cordon is currently in place, with several police officers and vehicles at the scene. It is understood residents will not be allowed back into their homes until the item is safely disposed of.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.05pm on Tuesday, 12 September, 2023, police were called to a property in Banavie Road, Glasgow, following the discovery of suspected ordnance in a back garden.Top news stories today “People in surrounding properties have been evacuated as a precaution until the item can be safely disposed of.”
