PC Ibrahim Malik had confronted Declyn McNeill after a police car was rammed
Brave . A court heard McNeill brandished the machete and warned him, “Come anywhere near me and I’ll f*****g hit you with it”.
McNeill, 26, of Blantyre, Lanarkshire, admitted assault, reckless conduct and driving dangerously while disqualified. He was driving a Renault Captur that officers pursued in Blantyre last November 29. Prosecutor Lewis Devoy told Hamilton Sheriff Court: “The Captur stopped abruptly in the middle of the road and three males, including the accused, got out. They threw items, including wheel braces, that hit the police car.”
McNeill then reversed the car at speed into the police car. He fled and was found in woods. As McNeill was approached by PC Malik he lifted the blade over his head.
