Mr Morrison portrayed the race in Parramatta as a contest between a Liberal with local credentials and a Labor silvertail from Sydney’s affluent eastern suburbs

“Marketing’s a great job – it keeps people employed,” Prime Minister Scott Morrison told the marketing manager at a family-run engineering business in the uber-marginal seat of Macquarie in outer western Sydney on Tuesday.into Labor-held marginal seats in an attempt to sell the Coalition and keep his job for another three years.

Labor has held Parramatta since 2004, but the seat’s popular local member, Julie Owens, is retiring, and the Coalition is hoping to pick up the multicultural electorate on May 21. Mr Morrison also spruiked his pledge to create 1.3 million jobs over the next five years, confirming that the new jobs would not come from an increase in the skilled migration cap.
